Finger Painted, Peppermint, Snowflake, Wrapping Paper

The girls decorated a sheet of peppermint scented, snowflake, wrapping paper for me today.

I mixed up the finger paint using our usual recipe of cornstarch, sugar, and water (you can find instruction, here), but this time, as well as adding blue food coloring, I mixed in several drops of peppermint extract - it really smelled good.

While I was mixing up the finger paint, G was busy masking off snowflake designs, with painters tape, on freezer paper...

...for the younger girls, with her help, to paint over with blue swirls of peppermint paint.

When, it dried, we removed the tape...

...and wrapped up a few more, nicely scented, presents to put under the tree.

It's great to be a homeschooler.

That paper is so pretty! We mixed peppermint extract into our regular paint this week, but I'm going to have to try your finger paint recipe.

That paper is realy pretty and I'm sure it smells good too. It's the kind of paper that you'd want to keep after opening the present. This was one of my favorite posts for the week and I've linked up to it here: http://play2grow.blogspot.com/2010/12/weekly-favorites-december-19-2010.html

How nice... I am sure that whoever receives a gift in that paper will love the smell and design, and your little elves loved making it.
